Hoops & Hip Hop

The ask

Georgia Tech wanted to tip off the 2023-24 basketball season with more than school colors. They wanted the culture in the building.

Student sections don't fill themselves, and a tip-off crowd doesn't come from a schedule graphic. Tech brought us in to give the night a reason to show up early.

What we made

Hoops & Hip Hop. A one-night mash-up of sneakers, bass, and buckets at McCamish Pavilion.

Our lane: we produced the slam-dunk showcase, curated the dunkers, brought in the host and judges, designed the promo assets, and pushed the night across Butter's channels all week. Around it, three-point face-offs pitted students against athletes and prizes dropped from the rafters.

What happened

NLE Choppa shut it down with a post-show concert, the building was loud before the season even started, and the Yellow Jackets walked into the year wrapped in culture, not just school colors.

That's what experiential marketing looks like for an institution: give students a role, put the culture on the court, and let the building do the talking.
