Described as part “how to” and part memoir, Kendi outlines the history of racism, how to become aware of subtle racist ideas you may be unknowingly supporting, and how to start supporting antiracist policies.
Born in 1982 in Jamaica, New York, NY, Ibram Kendi is a African American historian with an emphasis on race and discriminatory policy. A graduate of Florida A&M University and Temple University, Mr. Kendi is currently the Director of the Center for Antiracist Research at Boston University.
He is the winner of the 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction for his book “Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America.”
